The Seventy Ravens Chronicles. a tale of action, wonder and curse that will leave you breathless. The Serach is series of short stories in which we take a peek into the lives of various inhabitants of the seventy ravens province. from boatmen to salesmen and houswives, to the poverty stricken inhabitants battling the corrupt governing of the 'ravenbound queen' who spreads curses throughout her lands. Each inhabitant has their own story to tell. STARTING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A WITHDRAWN BOATMAN, WHO GOES BY THE NAME OF ELLIOT HAYES, WE JUMP INTO THE WORLD THAT IS THE SEVENTY RAVENS PROVINCE. EACH 'SHORT' GIVES NEW CLUES AND NEW PERSECTIVES, SLOWLY FILLING IN THE BLANKS SURROUNDING THE ANCIENT STORY OF THE RAVENBOUND QUEEN AND HER RAVENS, WHOSE FEATHERS WRECK HAVOC AND HARVEST CURSES. |
a good writer writes. That doesn't sound so surprising, but practice does indeed make perfect. As perfect as a story can be, anyway. The SeRach is therefore my practice-book, in which I attempt at telling the same story from different perspectives. like a diary, the 'shorts' are not 'chapters' as readers are accustomed to: they are accounts, testemonies. I will attempt to build the story from individual ones, each account telling the part of the 'truth' that is my main story-line. Whether or not I succeed, is for you up to decide. Because each story is an account, that is as much individual as multividual, one can jump into the story at any given 'short'. The shorts can also be read seperately, although I would definitely recommend reading from start to finish to not miss any of the clues I'm weaving in.
I must say that I am having the most fun creating different scenario's to fit the story, although doing so is a tad difficult. Each 'short' requiers a different character, and so I have to constantly adjust my writing-style to match. It's fun to do so, and I hope it's fun to read too. (that rhymes, doesn't it?)
Although none of my current characters have been male the idea is to have as many female leads, as there will be male leads. So I currently owe you 2 female leads! I will also switch between the poor and rich inhabitants of the province.
Of course, the characters don't create themselves, so if you have an idea, tip or anything else you want to ask / say / shout, please do not hesitate to contact me!
I love feedback, and I love negative feedback even more. critisize me by all means.
