"It's Always Tea-Time. " As said by Lewis Carol, (and he's right!). For this informative (and fun-to-read) article, it is time to discuss something we all should know: The reasons to enjoy your cuppa! After reading this, you will have a better understanding on tea, it's effects on people, and why you should never stop drinking it.
The effects of Tea - Mentally
Old brains and tea
There appear to be compounds in tea that improve the cognitive performance (how "well" one thinks) and fight alzheimer's disease, though the last one has yet to be officially proven. So, the next time you can't remember where you left your cup, try drinking tea. You might just find it!
Japanese, tea, and physical stress reduction
A study on 42093 Japanese found that drinking green tea actually reduces physical stress, and thus improves overall mental health. So, to all you studends out there, drink tea when exams come around this year. Don't drink too much before the exam though, you wouldn't want to go during one of those math problems.
Make tea, not war
Theanine, the compound in tea that improves cognition, also gives tea that famous calming effect. So yes, it is tue: Tea calms you. So don't hesitate to read a good book on a stormy night with your youngsters if they are afraid of lightning and give them a good steaming cup! (Don't let they burn their hands though!)

The effects of Tea - Physically
Tea warms one in winter, and cools one in summer
Tea indeed notches down the temperature in summer, this is because of its warmth, your body's warmth is attracted to the warmth of the tea. Your temperature is turned down after this. Just like a half-warm shower in summer. Tea also warms one in winter. The water is warm after all.
Tea helps losing weight
Recent studies have shown that drinking one cup of (green) tea a day can help people lose weight because of certain compounds found in it, that reduce the amount of weight people add. It also helps if you drink tea instead of energy drinks, because you'll be drinking a lot less sugar.

Popular kinds of tea, and their health benefits
Black tea:
Black tea has high concentrations of an antioxidant, which can cut the risk of stroke by 21 percent. Ain't that nice?
Green tea:
Green tea has the highest concentration of antioxidants, and studies have shown that drinking one cup of green tea a day can help people lose weight. Though, I haven't noticed it myself yet.
White tea:
White tea is a health multitasker! It offers the same amount of antioxidants as black tea, but a study may have proven it to help people with diabetes, because it improves glucose (sugar) tolerance. Less insuline, more tea in your blood!
Oolong tea:
Also Oolong tea can help people to lose weight. A recent study in Japan has shown that women burned slightly more calories in a two-hour period than another group did when only drinking water.
Flavored teas:
Most flavored teas are used with the base of black tea. Meaning they offer the same benefits as black thea, but teas that are infused with berries, like blackberry, may have even more benefits. Be careful with too sweet ones though, sugar does not improve health. There is a difference between Rooibos tea and Rooibos honey!
Herbal tea:
Not much research has been conducted towards herbal teas, but a study has proven that mint tea calms the stomach, like chamomile helps to relax and sleep. Many kinds of herbal tea also have a homeopractical use. An infusion with red clover (lat. trifolium pratense) for instance, recudes stress and contains vitamin A which can normally only be found in meats and livers, and is one of the most important vitamins. It is after all, the A-choice.

Good things about tea in general
Tea is cheaper than coffee (mostly)
The supermarket low-pricing kinds of tea are a lot cheaper than coffee beans. And now I know not all of you care for cheap, low quality tea, but it does help your wallet quite the bit.
Tea is way easier to make
For a decent cup of coffee, one has to go to the store for coffee beans, add to that those filthy muggish filters that seem to spill over about everything - even when you're trying to be careful - and you'll get the point. Tea is much simpler, especially if you just grab a cup of hot water, and use bags. For those who prefer more refined cuppa's, there's the tea-leaves in the filter, but that it still simpler than coffee making if you'd ask me.
A taste for everyone
For as far not even one person knows how many flavors of teas there are in the world, but estimated there are about 1,500 different varieties. - enough for everyone to find a taste that suits you. From the bitter English blends, to the sweet flavored or even bitter Asian ones, there's sure to be a kind that you like. There's even cold tea, although buying an icetea in the supermarket doesn't come cheap. Not for your wallet, and certainly not for your health. A better alternative is just making a pot and then letting it cool down before adding icecubes!
